In 2006, The Planter's Palette began a new service for our customers, "The Garden Coach". Through this program we are able to provide the following landscaping services for our customers: onsite consultations; landscape designs; installation of plants and hardscapes; maintenance of new and/or existing gardens; seasonal container planting; and vacation watering services.
The Garden Coach program is staffed with professional horticulturalists, landscape designers, and an installation crew with decades of experience and training.
We can create a custom landscape design based on your wishes using our professional expertise to choose the perfect plants for your site. This, coupled with our experienced installation crew, will create the unique landscape of your dreams.

Design
At The Planter's Palette, we believe that a garden should bring pleasure to its owner, to be seen as a comforting refuge rather than a time-consuming responsibility. Directed by Anthony Tyznik, FASLA, head landscape architect for more than forty years at the Morton Arboretum, The Planter's Palette designers are prized for their knowledge of plants as well as their mastery of the principles of good design.
From urban terraces and parkways to rolling rural estates, designers from The Planter's Palette are capable of creating an outdoor environment to fit the unique needs of each client. Their projects have ranged in scope from small container gardens to commercial complexes covering hundreds of acres. The Planter's Palette team can also design custom fencing, trellises, and garden structures.
For residential clients, The Planter's Palette offers on-site consultations. Our designers will visit the home to discuss client objectives and observe property. During a "verbal brainstorming" period with the owner, our designers will offer options for considerations. Accurate measurements of existing features will be taken, and the designers will use this data to draw a plan to meet the needs of the client.
The Planter's Palette provides design services to clients in the landscape industry as well. Our team has supplemented existing projects with perennial expertise and designed landscapes for installation by Chicago's most reputable firms.
Drafted plans are prepared for all large projects. Drawings done by the Planter's Palette design group are always hand drafted --we prefer the custom look of the finished product and we believe that there is no substitute for the time tested, step-by-step process required to produce a finely drafted landscape design.
