We are open every day of the Memorial Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help you kick off summer in the garden. Pick up all the ‘pretties’ you need to decorate your Memorial Day festivities; herbs to flavor food on the grill; and vegetables to get into the garden for a summer filled with delicious, nutritious eating.

We are opening a temporary second location at the old Fifth Avenue Florist greenhouse just west of Randall Road on North Avenue (Rt. 64) in St. Charles. The grand opening of this facility is Saturday, May 4. To celebrate, we are offering pansies at just 99 cents each on Saturday & Sunday.  Stop by and experience the greenhouse filled with blooms!

We are so happy Craig MacLean of The Pure Gardener has joined our staff. His many years of experience in the horticulture industry and his dedication to customer service is a perfect fit with our mission at The Planter’s Palette: to help our customers be successful gardeners while providing a delightful shopping experience for them.

Craig will be heading up our Annuals, Vegetables & Container Gardens departments.

We hope all his past customers at The Pure Gardener will stop by to see their old friend and support him as he uses his talents at The Planter’s Palette.

Even though the temperatures are below normal, the sun is shining and we are thrilled to begin our 33rd season at The Planter’s Palette. The pansies and violas are better than ever – come on in and take a look at all the beautiful colors. You will have faith spring is just around the corner!

We are busy getting ready for the new season. Geranium hanging baskets were started this past week. We’ll start growing pansies next week. Spring will be here before we know it!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work at a garden center? No two days are alike. We love helping our customers find the perfect plants, designing small garden spaces or container gardens, answering gardening questions, and solving insect and disease problems.

We enjoy caring for our plants to keep them the highest quality in the area, keeping the garden center looking its best, and creating gorgeous displays of plants and garden decor to inspire our customers.

Some days are hot and we get sweaty; some days are rainy and we get wet; some days are cold and we shiver; but most days are lovely and we rejoice in our good fortune to be able to spend them outside.
