Lobelia siphilitica

Bright blue tubular flowers held on spikes late July into August. Flower stalks rise up 2-3' tall above the rosette of foliage. A pretty companion to turtlehead or sedges at water's edge. Space 15-18" apart.

Light to partial shade in moist, organically rich soil. Mulch roots in summer and winter to conserve moisture. Short lived but readily re-seed themselves.
