Deschampsia caespitosa

Masses of cloud-like yellow to gold flower heads are held above neat clumps of arching, slender leaves 1-2' tall and wide. Flowers appear 1-2' above the foliage in late May and create a gentle hazy appearance. A cool season grass.

Full sun to part shade in average to moist soil. Avoid hot, dry locations. Flowers less in shade. Cut back hard in spring.
