Pennisetum alopecuroides 'National Arboretum'

Unusual for its dark brown flower heads held well above clumps of very dark green glossy foliage in August. Grows 2-3' tall and wide. Nice fountain shape but wider leaf blade. A warm season grass.

Full sun or light shade in average, well-drained soil. Establishes quickly. Protect from extreme cold in winter.
