Pulsatilla vulgaris
Violet-blue, cup-shaped flowers bloom in mid April to May. Flowers bloom before the soft silky foliage appears. Grows 8-12" tall and to 12" in width. The feathery seed head is quite decorative.
Full sun to light shade in well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil. Avoid wet winter situations.
