Silphium trifoliatum
Panicles of 1-2" yellow single sunflower-like flowers in June to August Reaches to 3-7' tall, with lance-shaped leaves held in whorls of 3 or 4, on purple stems.
Tough and adaptable, growing best in rich well-drained soils in full sun to light shade.
