Thermopsis caroliniana Long spires of bright yellow pea-like flowers held above the blue-green oval foliage in June and July. Bush like, reaching 3 to 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Cut back to refresh the foliage after flowering. Light sun to part shade in organically rich, loose, well-drained soil. Needs protection from hot afternoon sun. Carolina Lupine
