Calamagrostis acutiflora brachytricha
Feathery flower spikes in late August are green blushed with pink, aging to wheat color in fall, rising 1 1/2 to 2' above the foliage. Foliage 1-1/2 to 2-1/2' tall and to 3' wide. Flowers contrast nicely with bold eupatoriums.
Best in full sun or light shade in moist, fertile soil. Fairly tolerant of shadier sites. Water during dry periods in summer.
