Rudbeckia subtomentosa
Masses of showy yellow coneflowers with red-brown centers bloom on strong stems in late July-August. This prairie plant grows 2-3' tall when in flower, and to 2' wide. Use for naturalizing or with ornamental grasses.
Full sun to light shade in organically rich, moist to dry soil. Can tolerate clay soil and dry conditions. Often reseeds.
